Resilience and Recovery: Therapeutic Tools for Treating Substance Use Disorders

This course will focus on empirically-supported therapeutic tools for the treatment of substance use disorders, including Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Relapse Prevention and Dialectical Behavior Therapy for substance use. It will provide an overview of harm reduction approaches and theoretical perspectives guiding the treatment of substance use disorders, and will then focus on concrete skills and strategies clinicians can use to assess and treat substance use in their clinical practice.
