Cultivating Affirming Therapy Spaces: Supporting Bi/Pan/Plurisexual Clients

People who identify as plurisexual (including bisexual, pansexual, and queer individuals) represent the largest subgroup within the LGBTQ+ community. Unfortunately, they often encounter higher rates of mental health challenges and interpersonal violence compared to their lesbian or gay counterparts in different sexual identity groups. In this workshop, we will explore the unique experiences of plurisexual individuals in the United States, discussing how they may face distinct forms of prejudice and discrimination within society. Additionally, we will delve into strategies to adapt clinical practices, making them more affirming and effective in supporting plurisexual individuals.
