AFFIRM Reads Book Club: Using ACT and CFT for Burnout Recovery: The Beyond Burnout Blueprint

This Affirm Reads self-study course is based on Using ACT and CFT for Burnout Recovery: The Beyond Burnout Blueprint, an evidence-based, integrative framework that combines principles from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) to address burnout at both the individual and systemic level.

Burnout is increasingly recognized as a widespread occupational phenomenon driven by chronic stress, emotional labor, and structural workplace factors. This course moves beyond surface-level self-care approaches and introduces a six-step model—the Beyond Burnout Blueprint—designed to help clinicians and professionals move from depletion to sustainable engagement, resilience, and meaning.

Participants will engage with core ACT processes (e.g., psychological flexibility, values, defusion, willingness) and CFT principles (e.g., the three-system model, self-compassion, threat/drive/soothing regulation) while also examining systemic drivers of burnout and pathways for organizational change.
